MACOG has released an amendment for the Michiana on The Move: 2050 Transportation Plan and corresponding Transportation Conformity Determination Report for public comment and review. The amendment updates the work type of an existing project at SR 2 and Larrison Blvd in St. Joseph County from intersection improvement to new interchange construction, and updates phasing and open to traffic dates for added travel lanes on Union St/Bremen Hwy in the City of Mishawaka and St. Joseph County.

The Michiana on the Move: 2050 Transportation Plan acts as a blueprint for how the Michiana region will address its transportation needs and how federal, state and local funds will be invested into highways, public transit, freight, bikeways, and pedestrian walkways. Periodically this long-range plan is amended and updated to remain consistent with the Region’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

The public comment period will run from February 3, 2025  to March 10, 2025. There will be a public meeting on March 5 at 9:00 am during MACOG’s Transportation Technical Advisory Committee Meeting to provide an opportunity for the public to review and discuss the plan amendments and conformity report.

To review the amendment and air quality conformity report, visit MACOG’s office or go on-line to www.macog.com/transportation_plan.html. Comments will be accepted by email at macogdir@macog.com, mailed to MACOG (227 W. Jefferson Blvd., 11thFloor County-City Building, South Bend 46601), or faxed to 574-239-4072.
